PROFESSIONAL PIANO MOVING
Safe Relocation for a Precision Instrument
A piano is a valuable instrument with considerable weight and highly precise internal mechanisms. It requires specialised handling and cannot be moved using conventional moving methods.
Whether you are moving home, repositioning a piano within the same property, arranging the delivery of a new piano, or transporting it temporarily to a performance venue or institution, we provide specialised moving services for upright and grand pianos. Our team is experienced in handling multi-storey staircases, narrow doorways, low-clearance passages and challenging property layouts. We use specialised protective wrapping, securing, dismantling and reassembly methods throughout the moving process. Every stage is handled by our team to ensure that your piano is moved safely and securely without requiring any handling from the customer.

Why Does a Piano Require a Professional Moving Service?
A piano is a highly precise acoustic instrument with delicate internal components, including the action mechanism, soundboard and string assembly. Conventional moving methods are not designed for its unique weight distribution and structural load points. Incorrect lifting points, carrying angles or securing methods can cause damage to the finish, loosened components and misalignment of the internal mechanism. This may result in tuning instability or structural damage, affecting the piano’s touch and tone.
A grand piano has an even more complex structure. It must be dismantled, carefully packed, transported in separate components and properly reassembled by trained professionals following standard procedures. This helps protect the entire instrument and minimise risks during the moving process.
Helpful Tip
Slight internal changes may occur after a piano has been moved. Professional tuning is recommended after relocation to restore accurate pitch and proper playing condition.
