Repair and Restoration
PROFESSIONAL PIANO CARE
Restoring Your Piano’s Playing Condition
When a piano develops mechanical problems or its components begin to deteriorate, tuning alone cannot restore its proper touch and tone. Many older pianos still have considerable playing value and can be returned to a stable playing condition through professional repair and restoration.
Drawing on more than 30 years of craftsmanship since 1992, we operate our own dedicated workshop, where all repair and restoration work is completed in-house without outsourcing. Our technicians have years of hands-on experience working with upright and grand pianos, from minor fault repairs to comprehensive piano restoration. Every service begins with an inspection and assessment, followed by a transparent quotation. We explain the feasibility of the restoration honestly and provide objective advice on whether the piano should be repaired or replaced.

UNDERSTANDING THE DIFFERENCE
Repair vs. Restoration: Which Does Your Piano Need?
Repair
Addresses specific problems such as unresponsive keys, unusual noises, broken strings or faulty pedals. The aim is to resolve the issue accurately and restore the piano to normal working condition.
Restoration
Intended for older, neglected or severely worn pianos. It may involve complete dismantling, component replacement, soundboard repair and exterior refinishing to bring the piano back to life and restore its performance as closely as possible to that of a new piano.
SERVICE CATEGORIES
Our Repair & Restoration Services
01
General Piano Repairs
We address common problems found in household pianos, including stuck or unresponsive keys, unusual sounds when playing, loose or faulty pedals, broken strings and action mechanism faults.
02
Precision Action Servicing
The core action mechanism is dismantled and cleaned before worn components are adjusted or replaced. The action is then rebalanced to improve missed notes during repeated playing, slow key return and uneven key resistance.
03
Comprehensive Piano Restoration
Suitable for older, neglected or pre-owned pianos that have not been serviced for an extended period. The service may include thorough dust removal and moisture treatment, keyboard adjustment, finish repair, and the inspection and replacement of worn components.
WHEN TO SEEK HELP
When Should You Arrange a Repair Assessment?
The following signs may indicate mechanical wear and should be inspected promptly.
01
Keys are stuck, silent or do not return properly
02
Persistent unusual sounds or noises while playing
03
Pedals are not functioning or do not return to position
04
The piano is ageing, or its mechanical components are worn or corroded
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Can a restored piano perform like a brand-new piano?
Every piano differs in age, condition and level of wear. We assess the expected restoration outcome honestly. If an older piano is not worth undertaking major restoration work, we will provide objective advice to help you avoid unnecessary expenses.
How does the repair quotation process work?
We begin with an on-site inspection to identify the problem. A transparent quotation is then provided based on the extent of the issue, the components required and the estimated labour involved. Work will only begin after the quotation has been confirmed.
